- Any limestone hard enough to take polish
    
- Used for buildings, interiors, statues, and gravestones
    
- Finest marble is white, called statuary marble
    
- All marble is composed of crystals of minerals calcite or dolomite
    - Which when pure are perfectly white
 
- Colored marbles result from presence of other minerals or staining
    
- It is a limestone that has been metamorphosed through the action of heat
    - Far below the earth's surface
 
- Marble people are great diplomats
    - Giving strength, durability and beauty to the community which they represent
        
- Are like living memorials to the historical veracity of their interest
 
3.1.1.3 Color:  White 
- Purity, perfection, the absolute (Bruce-Mitford)
    
- Most associated with sacredness, sacrificial animals often white
    
- Western tradition, bride in white; Asian tradition, white is color of mourning
    
- A ghost is thought of as white; white conceals nothing
    
- White flag signals truce, therefore means peace
    
- In Christian church, white associated with the priesthood, baptism, first communion
3.1.1.4 Animal Totem:  Owl (Wilson VFEM 32-33)
- A bird of the night; can turn head rather than eyes; can turn head more than any bird
    
- Fly almost silently and can swoop down unsuspectingly on prey
    
- Night vision allows them to see prey in an almost absolute darkness
    
- Many tribes consider Owl to be Messenger of Death; known as Night Eagle
    
- Have amazing hearing abilities, allowing them to hear and locate prey
    - In absolute total darkness
